Introduction The Center for Population Information and Documentation (CPID) is eshtablished based on the Prime Minister’s Dicision 18/2008/QĐ –TTg dated 29 January 2008 on the functions, responsibilities, authority and organizational mechinism of the General Office for Population and Family Planning, Ministry of Health. Functions and tasks
Functions
1. CPID is an affilication of the GOPFP. CPID is to assist the Director General implement activities on PFP information system, databases information technology, information and documentation.
2. CPID is a legal institution with its own seal and bank accounts.
3. CPID office is based in Ha Noi.
Tasks
1. Develop and implement long-term, five-year and annual plans and programs on PFP information system, databases information technology, information and documentation.
2. Establish and manage the Centre for PFP Network Integration and Management
3. Provide and manage PFP information and documentation.on the LAN and the GOPFP LAN; be an standing member of the GOPFP’s website and IT Steering Committee;
4. Conduct surveys, collect and repackage PFP information and data
5. Edit, publish and disseminate PFP publications
6. Organize and manage the GOPFP's Library, storage PFP information; cooperate and exchange PFP information, documentation and IT
7. Implement PFP information, documentation and IT projects; propose IT application
8. Provide technical guidance and support PFP information and documentation to local PFP offices
9. Be member of the Asia-Pacific Population Network (POPIN); Publish and disseminate the Population and Development Review, Vietnam Population News and PFP publications.
10. Participate in IT and information research activities and application.
11. In collaboration with the Personnel Division, develop training plans and materials on information and IT; conduct training on IT and information
12. Manage CPID’s staff, budget, and asset
13. Implement other tasks assigned by the Director General
